Enhance Your Smile’s Beauty
Discoloration, misalignment, and damage can cause a smile to lose its luster. Further, teeth dull and wear with use over time.
To keep smiles looking their best, Dr. Marjan offers cosmetic treatments tailored to the patient’s needs. Services we offer at Pacific Rim Dental Centre include:
- Bonding and White Fillings – Natural-looking restorations that easily blend with smiles. We use tooth-colored resin to repair the structure of teeth treated for cavities or other damage.
- Veneers – Thin strips of porcelain placed over teeth to change their size, shape, and color. This treatment allows patients to completely refashion their smile to fit what they imagine themselves to look like.
- Teeth whitening – An active bleaching agent that brightens smiles with several shades using a dental grade solution. We offer patients the convenience of either an in-office treatment or custom take-home trays to use on their own time.
- Porcelain Crowns and Bridges – Polished, life-like restorations that make it easy to replace or restore missing teeth. Our office also offers the alternative of white zirconia for enhanced durability without sacrificing the color.
- Invisalign® Clear Braces – This option for invisible orthodontics straightens teeth using a series of clear aligners. Each tray is molded to the patient’s smile then slightly altered to apply gentle pressure to the areas needing orthodontic intervention.
- Botox– Cosmetic enhancements that are often the final treatment to uplift the smile and restore its vibrant appeal.
Part of improving a smile is making sure the results meet the patients’ expectations. We are diligent in learning about our patients and use a gentle approach when conducting treatment. Dr. Marjan makes sure each treatment caters to the patient’s desires, using only high-quality materials.
A composite (tooth colored) filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, fractures, etc. The decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite filling.
There are many types of filling materials available, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. You and your dentist can discuss the best options for restoring your teeth. Composite fillings, along with silver amalgam fillings, are the most widely used today. Because composite fillings are tooth colored, they can be closely matched to the color of existing teeth, and are more aesthetically suited for use in front teeth or the more visible areas of the teeth.
As with most dental restorations, composite fillings are not permanent and may someday have to be replaced. They are very durable, and will last many years, giving you a long lasting, beautiful smile.
Reasons For Composite Fillings:
- Chipped teeth.
- Closing space between two teeth.
- Cracked or broken teeth.
- Decayed teeth.
- Worn teeth.
How Are Composite Fillings Placed?
Composite fillings are usually placed in one appointment. While the tooth is numb, your dentist will remove decay as necessary. The space will then be thoroughly cleaned and carefully prepared before the new filling is placed. If the decay was near the nerve of the tooth, a special medication will be applied for added protection. The composite filling will then be precisely placed, shaped, and polished, restoring your tooth to its original shape and function.
It is normal to experience sensitivity to hot and cold when composite fillings are first placed, however this will subside shortly after your tooth acclimates to the new filling.
You will be given care instructions at the conclusion of your treatment. Good oral hygiene practices, eating habits, and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new fillings.
Porcelain Crowns (Caps)
A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations.
Although there are several types of crowns, porcelain (tooth colored crown) are the most popular, because they resemble your natural teeth. They are highly durable and will last many years, but like most dental restorations, they may eventually need to be replaced. Porcelain crowns are made to match the shape, size, and color or your teeth giving you a natural, long-lasting beautiful smile.
Reasons For Crowns
- Broken or fractured teeth.
- Cosmetic enhancement.
- Decayed teeth.
- Fractured fillings.
- Large fillings.
- Tooth has a root canal.
What Does Getting A Crown Involve?
A crown procedure usually requires two appointments. Your first appointment will include taking several highly accurate molds (or impressions) that will be used to create your custom crown. A mold will also be used to create a temporary crown which will stay on your tooth for approximately two weeks until your new crown is fabricated by a dental laboratory.
While the tooth is numb, the dentist will prepare the tooth by removing any decay and shaping the surface to properly fit the crown. Once these details are accomplished, your temporary crown will be placed with temporary cement and your bite will be checked to ensure you are biting properly.
At your second appointment your temporary crown will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and your new crown will be carefully placed to ensure the spacing and bite are accurate.
You will be given care instructions and encouraged to have regular dental visits to check your new crown.
Porcelain Fixed Bridges
A dental bridge is a fixed (non-removable) appliance and is an excellent way to replace missing teeth.
There are several types of bridges. You and your dentist will discuss the best options for your particular case. The “traditional bridge” is the most popular type and is usually made of porcelain fused to metal. Porcelain fixed bridges are most popular because they resemble your natural teeth. This type of bridge consists to two crowns that go over two anchoring teeth (abutment teeth) and are attached to pontics (artificial teeth), filling the gap created by one or more missing teeth.
Dental bridges are highly durable and will last many years, however they may need replacement or need to be re-cemented due to normal wear.
Reasons For A Fixed Bridge
- Fill space of missing teeth.
- Maintain facial shape.
- Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position.
- Restore chewing and speaking ability.
- Restore your smile.
- Upgrade from a removable partial denture to a permanent dental appliance.
What Does Getting A Fixed Bridge Involve?
Getting a bridge usually requires two or more visits. While the teeth are numb, the two anchoring teeth are prepared by removing a portion of enamel to allow for a crown. Next, a highly accurate impression (mold) is made which will be sent to a dental laboratory where the bridge will be fabricated. In addition, a temporary bridge will be made and worn for several weeks until your next appointment.
At the second visit, you permanent bridge will be carefully checked, adjusted, and cemented to achieve a proper fit. Occasionally your dentist may only temporarily cement the bridge, allowing your teeth and tissue time to get used to the new bridge. The new bridge will be permanently cemented at a later time.
You will receive care instructions at the conclusion of your treatment. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new permanent bridge.

Porcelain veneers dramatically transform smiles, leaving them more linear, lustrous, and uniform. Most people choose to treat teeth in their aesthetic zone, the six to eight visible teeth in the upper and lower jaw.
Minimally Invasive Aesthetic Improvement Completed in Two Office Visits
Dr. Marjan will first assess the condition of a patient’s enamel to determine if they are candidates for porcelain veneers. There is a small percentage of people who do not have sufficient enamel to receive veneers, and Dr. Marjan may recommend a similar aesthetic treatment using Lumineers.
Porcelain veneer treatment can be completed in two office visits. First, teeth are lightly buffed in preparation for the shells to be affixed. Then Dr. Marjan takes a highly accurate impression of the unique contours of each tooth, and sends the dimensions to a trusted lab for fabrication. The lab custom designs the veneers to fit perfectly on to the front of each tooth.
One-Of-A-Kind Signature Smiles that Complement Your Unique and Natural Beauty
Patients are encouraged to collaborate with the doctor in expressing their preferences in the shade and shape of their veneers, and Dr. Marjan will give you his expert advice on how you can achieve a smile that flatters the shape of your face and your surrounding dentition.
At the second appointment, the veneers will be securely affixed onto teeth using a curing lamp. People will think you were born with the natural and beautiful smile that porcelain veneers provide.

What Stains Your Teeth?
Our teeth don’t start off perfectly white, but rather a creamy yellow or pale grey. However, exposure to certain foods can darken that color significantly. This is because the enamel, the tooth’s outermost layer, is actually porous, allowing certain substances to pass through. The stains build up gradually, going from barely noticeable to several shades off-color.
Dark foods are the biggest culprit for enamel stains. Common discoloring foods include tomato sauce, curry, and berries. Dark drinks, including tea, coffee, soda, and alcohol, will also produce enamel stains.
How Sapphire™ Teeth Whitening Works
Professional teeth whitening utilizes a specially formulated bleaching gel, which is applied to the visible surfaces of the teeth. Upon application, the gel begins to break down enamel stains, restoring teeth toward their natural shade. During the whitening process, your teeth will be monitored to ensure the whitening process is going smoothly, and that the gel does not irritate the gums.
The Sapphire™ in-office whitening system uses a bleaching gel with a strength of 25% hydrogen peroxide. A whitening session typically takes 60 minutes and can whiten teeth by several shades. As all teeth are different, some patients will see more dramatic whitening, and some cases may call for a second session.
For patients who find it difficult to make it to the office, we provide at-home whitening kits to be used at your convenience. Using a similar bleaching gel, at-home whitening can be used to touch up teeth with minor stains, and are ideal for keeping teeth brighter after in-office whitening.
